My new purchase..soon

Well, just in case you didn't know this about me. I like guns. I like guns because they are fun to shoot, and are neat. Women like jewelry, I like guns. I like target shooting on a sunny day. I enjoy traps, sporting clays, and other shoots.

I am considering trading in my one gun for a small, pocket gun to wear when I go to the city when a larger gun is not appropriate. I have narrowed it down to two models.
The first is a North American Arms .32 acp. Here is what it looks like

The second is a Kel Tec .32 acp.

They are both very small. About the size of a deck of cards. Which one do you think is more worth my time?

I don't know anything about the two models you have posted, but I can tell you what I carry with me when I serve papers.

I'm a process server, which you probably didn't know. I serve foreclosures, divorce papers, evictions, summons, complaints, etc. Since the meth problem has infested our state I'm always worried about stumbling onto a lab. Plus, some of these people get pretty excited after I visit them.

Anyway, I wear a .38 Smith & Wesson j-frame, or the Chief's Special. Its relatively small and fits nicely into my shoulder harness under a jacket or a sweatshirt. I'm a pretty big guy, so you can't even see it.

I know that size is an issue for you, so maybe you wouldn't like the .38 as much.

Just remember the rules about carrying a concealed weapon that you had to memorize with your test. I administer the test locally here in North Dakota and even I have to run the check list through my mind when I'm out and about and packing.

Its funny, if I wore the gun on my hip in a holster state law says I don't even have to have a license at all.

You may want to try a DAO Kahr pistol in 9mm. The PM9, their smallest and lightest model, is 5.3" long, 4.0" high, and has a slide 0.90" wide, and carries 7 rounds of 9mm (6+1, actually). Compared to the NAA Guardian, this is about an inch longer, 5/8" taller, and of negligible difference in width. The pistol itself weighs oly 14 ounces with no magazine, versus the NAA's 13.5 ounce weight. Of course, it's quite a bit more expensive (retail cost is a little over $700, I think, versus $400 or so for the NAA - although I hope you wouldn't pay retail for either). They also have similarly sized .40 pistols, but they sacrifice one round of magazine capacity and are significantly heavier.

If money is a big issue for you, why not at least get the NAA Guardian in .380 instead of .32? The size/weight difference is negligible, and you might do a bit more than just piss off an assailant.

I own both of these models. The first is a .380 North American Arms Guardian and the P32 by Kel-Tec. The North American Arms weapon is very well made and is utterly reliable with one of the two magazines which came with it. The "bad" magazine will spit out a live round and not chamber one approximately every 20 rounds. The "bad" magazine will also stovepipe the last round every other full run of the magazine. The gun is very well made but I am going to trade it off because of one reason...it is too heavy (18 0unces unloaded). The Kel-Tec P32 is light and I have only put about 100 rounds through it. It has never jammed or failed to fire when the trigger is pulled. It is comfortable to shoot and easy to slip into a pocket. It is so light you forget it is in your pocket/jacket ect...! The only major thing wrong with the P32 is that it is not available in stainless steel or some other modern rust-resistent alloy. Rust is a big concern of mine both for appearance and because I hate to wipe a gun down every time it becomes damp due to humidity, sweat, and exposure to the elements. A rusty gun is much more likely to malfunction and the truth be told most of us can be a little delinquent in properly maintaining our firearms. That's my two cents worth for what it's worth.

the kel-tec p32 is a great weapon. I never leave home without it. It is either in a front pocket holster or in a fobus ankle rig,NO ONE knows its there.
