Is the BCS un-American

Simplified, for the uniniated, the BCS is the way that big time college football (division 1-A) picks its #1 team. Division 1-AA, 2, and 3 use the time honored tradition of the playoffs.

The trouble with the BCS is that it favors big conferences like the Big Ten, Big East, ACC, PAC Ten, etc. Teams like BYU and Boise State in the WAC are left out in the cold, even if they are undefeated.

Not to leave a problem unresolved, the Senate today heard arguments about the BCS. Some senators indicate that it might be an anti-trust violation. Senator Joeseph Biden has even gone as far to call the BCS "un-American".

Whether it is or not is up for dispute. But with numerous court nominations still unheard, and other pressing government business, is this really a priority?
