I hate the Yankees

I hate the yankees. Sorry folks but I do. I know it breaks your heart to hear this.

Every sports fan who ever complained about overpaid players, high ticket prices, and smaller markets getting shafted should also hate the Yankees.

Thanks to the lack of a salary cap teams like the Yankees can pay as much as they can afford. And being in the #1 television market in the country George Steinbrenner has deep pockets to pay plays to pay for him.

Teams like the Expos, Twins, or even the Pirates can't compete with them and break their banks trying to make payroll.

Baseball comissioner's response is contraction. Instead of fixing the problem, he puts a band-aid on it. It wouldn't be so bad, contraction that is, but with the majority of sports stadiums funded as public works projects through taxes, it is wrong to shut these teams down.

It all is the Yankee's fault.

Hey, don't blame the Yankees. They haven't broken any rules. Steinbrenner is just better at "playing the game" then all the other owners.

And before you start feeling sorry for these small-market teams remember what their cheap-skate owners do with a lot of the luxury money they receive from teams like the Yankees and Dodgers: they pocket it. They don't spend it on making their teams better.

Steinbrenner wants to win, and he's willing to spend the money it takes to get players on the team that allow them to win. Steinbrenner is not the richest owner in baseball, he's just the one who's most willing to put a winning baseball team on the field.

Selig can't do anything to fix the problem without approval from the Players' Union. The players want a free-market and that's what they got (well, except for the whole arbitration monstrocity). I hate the Yankees too, but it ain't Steinbrenner's fault that New York is a great market!
