I am sure I am going to be flamed for this one, but I hate Notre Dame. I also hate a lot of their fans. They suck. At least the ones that I know.
In Northeastern PA where I live, most of the Catholics are Notre Dame fans. They love the team. They get misty eyed talking about Touchdown Jesus and all that stuff. The problem lies in the fact that most of them couldn't even point to South Bend on a map.
I do appreciate the history of Notre Dame. They are a great story in football. They only have about 12,000 students, they play an incredibly tough schedule, and almost always are competitive.
I hate the move Rudy, and find it ironic that when Rudy's dad goes to the stadium for the first time he gets all misty eyed while the Penn State fight song plays in the background. Talk about stupid Notre Dame fans.
Another thing about the Notre Dame fans I know is that they are almost always drunk, and they like to make fun of you mercilessly when your team, usually Penn State, loses.
Even though my beloved Nittany Lions suck this year, and have an old senile coach, Notre Dame is sucking too. And that makes me happy.

I play in the Pitt Band, and I rarely see fans of opposing teams act rudely toward anyone, especially toward us. Two weeks ago, however, when Notre Dame played here in Pittsburgh, I saw all of what you described, and then some. I can honestly say that ND fans are the worst bunch of sports fans I've ever had the misfortune of meeting. However, this group is not typical of all Notre Dame fans - I posted a much longer essay on the topic here.

All these friends were the biggest bunch of losers. I got rejected from Notre Dame this afternoon, but I am now glad that I will no longer automatically become one of the biggest losers. Also, I am a huge Red Sox fan (from Boston). The only thing that sucks more than Notre Dame is the Yankees. Imagine a ND/Yankee fan... he should probably kill himself.
This is bogus. Notre Dame has some of the best fans around. Teams like Miami and Ohio State have bad fans because they have a bad history and all of a suuden become good. Notre Dame knows how to win with pride. They are real winners.
Ushers at Notre Dame Stadium take special care of the visting crowd especially if Notre Dame has been treated bad by their team. Notre Dame has the "subway illumni" where Catholics all over the country respect them.
I don't know what you guys are smoking but you should stop it. Try getting your head out of your ass to start and then get a life. GO IRISH!
I'm from South Bend and I think all you guys are full of shit. How many national championships do the Panthers have by the way. How many times did the pathers beat us. Even when were having a shitty season we still beat you. Notre Dame is the greatest football team of all times and we have the greatest history. So to all the pussy's who don't like Notre Dame you can suck my dick bitches.

What a silly and baseless assertion. For your information Michigan is the winningest team in college football history at 836-273-36 while ND is at 799-258-42. While ND has the smallest of a sliver of an advantange in winning percentage (ND: 0.7461 to Michigan: 0.7459), Michigan will surely eclipse that with finality this season (which it already did when ND lost to BYU). Enjoy your ND team which is on a downward spiral to mediocracy. The last time Michigan had a losing season was neary 40 years ago: 1967. ND has had two losing seasons in the past 5 years--signs of a great program indeed.
