A bad job story

I read this story on a web-site about bad bosses. I would post my story, but the web-site is an affiliate of the ALF-CIO, and I hate unions.

Here is my bad boss story:

Right out of college I worked for a clothing retailer in their corporate offices. It was a small company, and all the head bosses were brothers, with the main boss being the father. They were all miserable people, who routinely took to swearing horribly if you did something wrong, and never thanked you for doing something right.

Despite being office workers, hired to do office work, they often made us work in the warehouse because they were too cheap to hire enough warehouse workers.

When the old man found out I could drive stick shift, he started making me drive the large delivery truck, making deliveries to many of their stores. Despite not having a valid Comercial Drivers License (CDL), this soon became my second job. Driving a truck without a CDL is a against the law, and punishable by hefty fines that I would be responsible for.

It was nothing for them to come into my cubicle at 4:45 and say, not ask, "Your gonna go here, here, and here...) It was common for me not to get home untill 3 or 4 in the morning, only to have to be at my desk job at 8am, no exceptions or comp time.

When I started hesitating when they wanted me to work Saturdays and Sundays, they eventually fired me. But it was so bad, I was getting physically ill before I had to go to work in the mornings. It was awful.

Insufferable! More ugly people of the world. It kills me that they can get away with treating their employees like that.

The first story made me pull my own hair when I read the part about the company billing Jay for the flowers they sent. Good God mawn!
