Minimum Wage will hurt not help

Governor Ed Rendel just signed into law an increase in the state minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.15 over the next two years. People for the increase say that it is needed to help people get out of poverty. They don't realize that most emplolyers already pay over the minimum wage. And the ones that do pay only the minimum wage do so because the jobs they have are low skilled jobs, most are teens that are just starting out.

But raising the minimum wage will really hurt the people that it is meant to help.
