Regarding what turned out to be a prank photo of a GI Joe doll, the mainstream media really jumped off the bridge of responsible reporting.
When they reported this as fact they relied on the false assumption that these terrorists tell the truth.
But when Little Green Footballs reported the Dan Rather lie, blogs were just called "kook web-sites", and not "fact". But I guess terrorist blogs are always true.
