Lady in the Water Review

Last night, I saw Lady in the Water. It was somewhat an unusual film, in that it doesn't follow the same mold of Shyamalan's movies.

It is advertised as a children't fairy tale, and that is exactly what it is. Don't expect it to make sence all the time, it is quite illogical at times, but as long as you go into the movie expecting a big twist (there is none) or expect the creepiness of The Sixth Sense you will enjoy this movie.

I thought the movie was pretty good. Afterall, a movie should entertain, and be fun. Most of the movies I've enjoyed the most in my life were ones that didn't make sense, but instilled a sense of child-like wonder in me. This movie did just that.

The only weak point of the movie was the cinematography. It lacked the punch and deliberateness of his previous films. Overall, I enjoyed the movie for what it was. Two and a half stars out of four.

I tried getting David to come with me but he said he "doesn't want to see a demon mermaid movie." I'm going to go with my cousin. I think I own all M. Night's other films.
