President Bush today issued his first veto. It was on a measure that would have expanded federal funding on Stem Cells. Remember, Bush is the first President to EVER fund any stem cell research. He just vetoed an expansion of it.
Though I agree he should have vetoed it, I don't agree on his reasoning.
He cited moral and religious reasons, instead of the more compelling reasons that we should not be funding research at all, instead leaving it to the private sector to do.
About time he vetoed a spending plan, too bad he used an ethical reason on the sanctity of life instead of conservative fiscal reasons.
