Media love fake hardline Presidents

As Sarah points out the Media love hard nosed and tough Presidents when it comes to movies. The Presidents in Independence Day and especially Air Force One are hard nosed tough leaders. That was the 90s.

Now we actually have a President just like that, and they scoff at him.

Make sure you don't give me the credit: Lileks was the one who said it!

A strong President? Didn't you just say and I quote, "Is there some Quid Pro Quo going on here?" I can't trust him anymore!

What I was referring to was the fact the the Presidents in those movies (primarily Air Force One) took a hardline toward terrorists. In those cases the media love him, but don't with George Bush.

What upset me about the Dubai Ports World case was that this came out of nowhere, and although in the past he called for due dilligance, in this case it initially appreared that none was taken. Then he said he had no idea about the deal, and then he said he'd veto any legislation to delay it, even if delaying it was just to evaluate it to be sure it's a good idea.

This from the President who never vetoed anything, incluing the horrible Campaign Finance Law, which he said he would not support while he was a candidate.
