God is probably getting sick and tired of this asshole being, well, an asshole. I'm sure if God weren't all loving, this man would be one he would hate.
Michael Newdow files an emergency appeal with the Supreme Court to keep prayer out of the innaugauration.
From Foxnews
WASHINGTON — The atheist who tried to remove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance asked the Supreme Court on Tuesday to bar the saying of a prayer at President Bush's inauguration.
In an emergency filing, Michael Newdow (search) argued that a prayer at Thursday's ceremony would violate the Constitution by forcing him to accept unwanted religious beliefs. His request has been rejected by two lower courts.
This is like people who walk into bars and get upset that there are drunk. When I was on my honeymoon we went to a bar called 8-Traxx located in Disney's Pleasure Island. I was horrified at all the familes there who took their children in strollers to go dancing, and then told people to "please put out their cigarettes, my child is coughing". I'm like
"Get that fucking kid out of a bar"
This is the same guy. Nothing is offensive about prayer. Many Americans do it. The thing is this guy chooses to get offended and then sue. It's our tax dollars defending against this guy.
He should have his license revoked and forced to work for Pat Robertson writing prayerful letters to donors.
As a Deist, I don't pray much. Actually I don't pray at all (except during key Philadelphia Eagles games). If someone wants to say grace at a meal, or before an event, I don't let it bother me.
I'm live and let live. But in the case of Michael Newdow, I think I'll make an exception.
