The Oscars: A Roundup

So the "Lord of The Rings" won 11 oscars last night. What is the deal with this movie? Maybe it's because I wasn't in Chess Club, or because I kissed a girl in high school. I just don't get the movie.

I watched the first one, I found it the most horribly boring movie I've ever seen. If the second and the third movies are anything like that, how did this movie win?

My pick for best movie, "Master and Commander: Far Side of The World" won only 2 oscars, but it wasn't up against Lord of The Rings.

There was only one really politically charged commend. Sean Penn said that "All actors know, besides there were no WMD..."

Well I am glad that Penn is a weapons expert. We need more weapons experts in Hollywood.

General rule seems to be if you've read the books, you like the movies, if you haven't read the books, it could go either way.
