Grandmother of the Week

grandmother.jpg Betty, a 72 year old grandmother, is loveable, good with children, cooks great home cooked meals, likes going for rides, and loves to go on walks.

She is available for adoption at the High Rise in town. Betty's family moved and was unable to take her with them.

To adopt Betty, please call 555-1212.

This makes me sick(not the grandmother thing). I wrote this because I see dogs all the time in my local newspaper in the pet of the week section. They feature dogs and cats all the time. Most of them are up for adoption because their owners moved and "couldn't take them with them". What the hell. You don't leave family behind.

Shitheads.

I've done it twice. Both times the choice was either find the dog a good home before we left the country, or subject a dog we loved to a 3-6 month quarantine. It was kinder to say goodbye.

Well, i can see going to another country. I know that 70% of the pets at the local shelter are there because their owners moved. I doubt that many people from Pottsville are moving overseas. I also know that a lot of studetns get dogs while in college and then move, but leave fido behind.
