The CIA can't do it, but I can

One of the big controversies regarding the CIA's inability to identify WMD in Iraq is the lack of "spooks" or undercover operatives in Iraq.

Well to help the Conservative cause, I have been undercover at the Democratic Underground forums. I have been posing as a shit throwing conspiracy theorist at the DU forums, and have learned several things.

1. They hate Bush alot

2. Many of them smoke weed

3. I think the weed destroyed their brain cells responsible for coherent thought.

4. They hate "neo-cons"

5. They mock conservative ideals and values

Here is a brilliant braindead dissertation on Clinton and Iraq

1. President Clinton never described the Iraqi WMD threat on the same level as Bush and with as much certainty. Clinton never said that we could be attacked in 45 minutes and that Saddam had connections to terrorist groups. Clinton never used the word "mushroom cloud." I hope you get my point here.

Well, I hate to break it to hippie boy, but Clinton did describe the WMD threat as major. From US Embassy transcripts on December 16th 1998.

"This situation presents a clear and present danger to the stability of the Persian Gulf and the safety of people everywhere. The international community gave Saddam one last chance to resume cooperation with the weapons inspectors. Saddam has failed to seize the chance," Clinton said.

"In halting our air strikes in November, I gave Saddam a chance, not a license. If we turn our backs on his defiance, the credibility of U.S. power as a check against Saddam will be destroyed," the President said. "We will not only have allowed Saddam to shatter the inspections system that controls his weapons of mass destruction program; we also will have fatally undercut the fear of force that stops Saddam from acting to gain domination in the region."

"If Saddam defies the world and we fail to respond, we will face a far greater threat in the future. Saddam will strike again at his neighbors; he will make war on his own people," Clinton said. "And mark my words, he will develop weapons of mass destruction. He will deploy them, and he will use them. Because we are acting today, it is less likely that we will face these dangers in the future."

Well I commended President Clinton then, and I think it was right to act. Presidnet Clinton said that we had to act because, if we didn't, would have no credibility to enforce resolutions in the future.

That is the exact reasons that Bush gave for the "march to war".

Where do these intellectual elites claim to be so smart, but so ignorant to recent history?

They're a party out of power and being intellectually honest and/or consistent is less crucial than throwing anything and everything out there in the hope that something/anything might stick. I trust that most people have the good sense to recognize that sophist rot for what it is.

I checked out DU a few times and you are so right about them. They all sound like 21-year old college students partying too much and then posting that tripe on the web to try to gain some self-respect. I would like to talk to a few of them in 10 years when the light finally comes on!
